- Good or average sperm count in the semen sample.
Dr. Biplab Deb's IUI: Step-by-Step Guide
Here are the steps, with Dr. Biplab Deb’s guidance:
- Step 1: Stimulation of the Ovaries
- You will be given oral medications like Letrozole or Clomiphene Citrate to induce ovulation and produce more eggs. You may even get some hormone jabs.
- Step 2: Assessing the Follicles
- On the 9th or 10th day of your menstrual cycle, a Transvaginal Ultrasound would be performed. TVS helps to check on the growth of your egg/follicle and timing of IUI .
- Step 3: Promoting Ovulation
- On successful maturation of the eggs, hormonal injections like hCG would be injected. Hormonal jabs are usually given to promote ovulation so that the egg/s could be released from the ovaries.
- Step 4: Insemination
- After a day or two, your consultant might call you for an appointment where you will undergo the painless procedure of Intrauterine Insemination. The excellent quality and healthy sperm would then be pushed into your uterus with the help of a soft cannula.
